Trip went very well, actually. Got there Friday afternoon. No real hassles, except a slight seating scare on the connecting flight (I almost didn't get one.) Mike picked me up, we went to eat at FatBurger (which, by the way, is AWESOME!), poked around Ikea, explored the Conservatory (so pretty!) and eventually headed back to Clarksburg where I met his grandmother and was reunited with my cat (cuddles!).
Saturday we drove around Clarksburg, Bridgeport, Shinnston, and Spelter touring the cemeteries, shops and streets of various and sundry interesting stuff. Then we headed to Morgentown for the rest of the day, and went to this fabulous store called Gabriel Brothers. Uh, it freaking rocks. 'Nuff said.
Sunday was spent in Columbus, Ohio at the shopping center there that was designed by the same guy who designed Zona Rosa. Uh, freaking amazing. And they have this awesome grocery store called Trader Joe's that I love love LOVE. Like Whole Foods, only better. Much fun was had, along with Mongolian BBQ (loves you berkie!) and then back home.
Monday was a gloriously lazy day. Out to lunch with Grandma at Golden Corral (yum) then spent the day at home with the kitty and lots of "House." New addiction. Lotsa fun.
Tuesday we left for Pittsburgh early, so as to do a little shopping and exploring. I didn't buy anything else, since it wouldn't have fit in my suitcase, but it was fun looking. Then flight home with no hassles, thank goodness, and back to work the next day!
All in all, it was a very good trip. I enjoyed seeing Mike and my kitty again, and it wasn't nearly as awkward or uncomfortable as I had feared, though there were a few times where I really had to remind myself that, no Carlye, this is NOT how things are going to go back to.
Well, work is pretty freaking awesome. (I say that a lot, don't I?) Our new casting/bid started on the 13th. (We switch about every six months.) I was all excited because I was really hoping to get the 5-day bid at Pirates so I could be friends with Wendy all the time. However, things didn't quite work out that way. Remember how I mentioned I was getting trained in Fantasmic!? Well, obviously, I got approved, and then I got cast! 5 DAYS!!! Completely unexpected, and rather thrilling. I was a little disappointed, because hanging out with Wendy is BY FAR my most favoritest thing to do, but hey, if I'm going to get stuck in a casting I don't have any choice in, then this one is WAY cool.
Speaking of casting--okay. So the way the schedule is set up, if you are performing in Fantasmic!, then you do the parade at the Studios, a couple of meet-and-greets in between, and then the show. So you would think that, being a 5-day show cast, that would also mean 5-day parade, right? Nope. The list came out, and I've only got parade for 2 of my days. Weird, right? I thought maybe it was because I was only specifically cast in parade for those two days. But then I checked again, and nope, I'm not even listed as a spare. Let me tell you, I had a bit of a panic right about then. Well, not to worry. Our new schedule came out on Saturday (yes, that's how long I've been trying to post) and I've been pulled from my casting. Wuh-what? What's going on?!?! Oh, yeah, that's right, I'M GETTING TRAINED TO BE FRIENDS WITH WENDY IN THE CASTLE SHOW!!!!!!!
I don't think you understand. Wendy is not exactly a popular character. She really only visits the Magic Kingdom, and when she not talking to people in Adventureland, she performing at the castle in the Dream Along With Mickey show. Which is a fairly new adventure for her and Peter. So! I get to go and watch her rehearse all next week, which hopefully also means I will get to watch her rehearse for the Disney Dreams Come True Parade as well, which means I am BEYOND FREAKING EXCITED!!!!!! Seriously. I was bouncing and screaming and hugging people when I found out. This is what I've been wanting to do since they first opened the show, and I didn't even KNOW they were training until it showed up on my schedule. Needless to say, life is good. Especially since I'm back into my 60-hour workweeks (money!!).
So. Trip was good, work is good, roommates are good. Only thing left is....boys. You all remember the Boys, right? Oh, yeah. Well, let's see. Been talking lots with Boy #2, good times, except that his last full-time day is tomorrow. *pouty face* He's going to New York this summer for ten weeks to work for this company called Hardrive, doing drums on stilts. From all accounts, it's a pretty sweet gig, and that's awesome for him. Not so awesome for me, though. Who will I make fun of for wearing spandex all day?
Well, I guess I'll have to go talk to Boy #1. *heee* Been making progress. Oh, come on, you all know me, I am not exactly the bite-the-bullet-go-for-it type of girl. In fact, I'm mostly the 0h-look-how-pretty.....and-now-I'm-done kind of girl. Well, I'm actually taking matters into my own hands. I am actually going up and starting a conversation with the Boy. I did it twice already. (Well, I don't see him every DAY, you know.) But guess what guess what? He calls me cutie pie and he gave me a hug the other day and he still says hi to me every time I see him and by the way he looks AWESOME when he hangs out with Darth Maul. Oh yeah. Okay, am I getting mushy yet? I think I definitely am feeling the squishy. But come on. I mean, how often to I get all googly-eyed over ANYONE? I think it's about time to see if I can snag a permanent make-out buddy by now. I mean, it has been over a year. The time has definitely arrived. And hey, not only is he single, but he's STRAIGHT.
Okay, I think that's about it for now. Oh, yeah!! And if any of you have Facebook, I've posted a bunch of pictures you might wanna go check out!!! Love and cuddles to everyone!!!
