Okay, so I didn't have time to update yesterday, so I'll do it now. Got up, got on the computer and tried to finish my homework. Got the first half done pretty quick, but then my teacher snuck a second assignment in there. Glad I actually read through the whole section or I would have missed it. Turns out I get to do a 500-750 word essay, with two 100 word critiques on other peoples' rough drafts. Ick. Not cool. Well, I attempted to find an article that I could stand writing about and fit the requirements, and promptly ran out of time before I had to go to work. Got to work, Starbucks, and my dad came in. He apologized for the way he and my mom handled the whole "we're concerned about your mental health" conversation. I was still mad, but I can see where he's trying to come from. Compromised by telling him I would THINK about taking meds, but absolutely REFUSED to see a therapist. Talked for over an hour before he left. Then my friends Rodney and Kirk came in (separately) and I talked to them for about 20 minutes. It was a slow night, can you tell? Left work, and went over to Shannon's for Slumber Party! And proceeded to watch the WORST movie in the entire universe. I swear, the funniest part was that I think they were actually kind of trying to be serious. It was terrible, and yet highly amusing. We all talked to Josh on the phone too. And Josh, I really did eat the raspberry popsicle because I missed you! I'll buy you a whole box of your own when you come in town, okay? I love you! Anyway, Manders and Jill both left, so I was really the only one left to spend the night, but that was okay. It was a blast. I hadn't seen everybody in forever, so it was nice just to talk and catch up. It's nights like that that remind me of why I became friends with them in the first place.
VERY long day. Woke up at 8:30, came home to shower, and then left for Crown Center for the festival. Got there on time, and then wandered around for half an hour looking for everybody. Turns out they were in the parking garage. Oh. Got to wear a nifty toga, one of those one-shoulder affairs, with geometric border. It was comfy, I wanted to steal it. Anyway, we were supposed to hand out grapes, but the produce place was running low, so we only got two bunches each for the whole day. Those lasted until about 4, then Becky was nice enough to let me and Manders take a nap for an hour. After that we sort of handed out brochures, but mostly just sat in the tent and gossiped with Becky, Natalie and Jeremy. That was probably the best part of the day. FINALLY got to leave around 9:45, then drove to see Mom at work, cuz she said she could get me a big discount on some flip-flops. I figured why not, so I got a couple pairs for about $20. Home now, and going to bed because I have to work at 6am. Blah. !Vive Italia!
