Tinkerbell Raspberry

Broken Strings

It's days like today that being agreeable and polite really pays off. Was the Pixie Spare, and told the base this morning that if I didn't have to talk, I'd REALLY rather not; ie, PLEASE don't pull me to something if you don't have to! Well, they let me rest until about 4ish when they HAD to pull me to Pixie Hollow. Brooke's roommate is very sick--like hospitalization sick--so she had to go home and take care of her when their other roommate left. So I had to do two sets, one 45 minute, one hour fifteen. Not. Fun. And of course the day that I can't talk and scream and be loud and excited we get some really good guests. There was a little girl (whose name I unfortunately have forgotten) who knew everything about Sleeping Beauty: all three of her names, Prince Phillip, Maleficent (Alesifant, close enough), AND Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather!! At three years old! I was more than impressed. Then there was Evan, a little 5 year old boy who was very excited to see Tinkerbell. Little boys are always my favorite. They may be reluctant at first, but once you get them to fall in love with you, they're yours for life. Evan, of course, needed no such coaxing; he was already thrilled to be there. So thrilled, in fact, that he kissed Tink--right on the neck! And OF COURSE he happened to hit that exact spot...you know the one. TOTALLY inappropriate thoughts. *laughs*
My favorite, however, was Delia. Delia was about 12 years old and from England. Tinkerbell asked her what her talent was, and Delia replied that she was a singer. So, Tink asked if she could see some of her talent. Now, it must be noted that when asked to sing, most tweeners will croon some teeny-bopper song of the day. Delia, however, broke the mold when she, instead of launching into Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers, commenced to sing "Broken Strings" by James Morrison and Nelly Furtado. Needless to say, I was floored. She wasn't half-bad for a young girl AND she had good taste in music! Tinkerbell wholeheartedly agreed with me. There may not have been as much vocalization as usual, but there was definite bouncing and clapping happening.
Texed Luke most of the day. He randomly started it by commenting on my new profile pic on Facebook of me in Lara's Saints jersey..and not much else. Kept talking about nothing in particular, some dirty comments on his part (and mine, I'll be honest) up until he had to go do MJJ. Least I think that's why, he did just sort end the conversation. Oh, well. Texted Tim too, mostly tonight. Really wish he was here; my throat is KILLING me, what little my voice had recovered had now retrograded, and I just don't feel good in general. Can't really tell if I have a fever, but I'm not well. Beginning to think this might be more than just bad allergies. Definitely bedtime.

Silence may be golden, but I've always been a silver sort of girl myself.

*sigh* This whole no talking thing is really starting to SUCK. Day 4ish of having no voice and I hate it! I never realized how much I talk, or even just verbalize when I work. Yesterday made it worse and now my throat is not happy with me. This better get fixed soon or I'm going to lose my mind.
Day parade today with Grant. It's my last day working with him before he leaves to go home and then to Tokyo. I'm so excited for him, but at the same time I'm going to miss him so much when he leaves. Nothing really special; the weather was nice, if a tiny bit chilly, and Grant and I talked about what we always talk about: boys! Specifically, ours. Well, mostly his. I hope everything works itself out, and if not, then at least he'll be removing himself from the situation for a while.
Woke up this morning REALLY wishing Tim was there, if you know what I mean. *grin* Was planning on texting him later today, but he beat me to it...and it seems was having the same idea I was. 0=) Too late to do anything about it then, but we sexted back and forth practically the whole day. I had Spectro after parade, but I was out about 8:30. He had a poker game he was going to about 7, but he said he'd be done by about 10ish, and he REALLY wanted to see me. Good, because I REALLY wanted to see him too. Spectro was FREEZING!! I was wearing like seven layers of clothing and I STILL couldn't feel my toes or fingers. It took like an hour for my feet to warm back up. Oh, well, no frostbite at least.
Texting Tim; he's on his way home. Poker didn't go as well as he had hoped, so I offered to cheer him up. *smirk* Gonna finish up here, grab some stuff and head over. Wonder what movie we'll watch this time? Or if we'll actually watch it at all? *laughs*
